(REVIEW) Benton : Aloe Soothing Mask Pack
'Benton' is inspired by and named after the movie 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button' in which Benjamin Button grows younger with time. In the movie, Benjamin has no choice but to leave his love, Daisy, as he becomes younger. If Daisy could also turn back time of her physical appearance, wouldn't she be happier? It may just be a fictional movie, but wouldn't most people have the same desire to be young again? Benton desires to restore your skin back to its original healthy condition with healthy recipes, rather than to give temporary effects with harmful ingredients. Also, Benton presents freshly made products by sticking to small batch products.
Benton's Aloe Soothing Mask Pack
INGREDIENTS
- Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Water (48%) — derived from the famous and known to be a wonder plant, Aloe Vera. That is said to be used even in the ancient Greek times as a folk remedy. Rich in polysaccharides (which is said to have the ability to accelerate the oxygenation of the skin protecting it from hypoxic stress), aloe is used in many fields from food to cosmetics. It's very rich in moisture, aloe is one of the most powerful and highly effective ingredient for hydration and soothing and helps leave the skin clear and revitalized.
- Sodium PCA — the sodium salt of pyroglutamic acid which is a naturally occurring component of our skin and a part of the "natural moisturizing factors" also known as NMF that maintains a healthy epidermis. Similar to hyaluronic acid, it has the ability to attract moisture in the air and supply it to the skin.

FIRST IMPRESSION
I'm personally not much of a fan of the color green. But this shade of green is nice because it's not bright and really emphasizes it being closer to nature due to it's made with healthy ingredients that will surely give the skin all the love and tender care it needs! It's a plus for me as the packaging itself looks clean and simple. No need for extravagant designs, just the important details will do.
PROS
The sheet mask itself is very soft, light and gentle on the skin. Unlike other sheet masks that i've tried before which was a little scratchy or itchy in some way while i was using it or even a few minutes after i placed it on my skin. But this didn't have such! Like what i've said in the "First Impression", i like the fact that the packaging wasn't overly designed and very minimalist with all the important things every buyer needs and wants to know about the product plus kudos to the english translation of everything that is written in korean letters (although i have a sister that can read korean letters, of course not everyone has one). It's actually a new release in their signature Aloe Line together with Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel and my favorite Holy Grail toner which is the Aloe BHA Skin Toner. When i started using this, i was having some bumps and somewhat allergic reaction to something which i suspect caused by sweat and the weather. Right after the sheet mask session, the bumps and redness of my face was reduced by a lot! Making it more than amazing in terms of soothing the skin! And having a skin type of combination is hard for when it comes to looking for a sheet mask that will suit it and not make it too oily nor too dry. Lucky this is just right! It hydrated the dry areas of my face which are mainly my cheeks and the tip and sides of my nose. And when i say dry, it's downright dry! Flaking, redness, stinging dry. You got them all right there! So having a sheet mask that targets all my concerns is more than a blessing to me! Also, what i love about this is that it's alcohol and fragrance free! As you all know, i've been a sucker for nice smelling products without being cautious or even conscious about the fragrance oil or added aromatics that can irritate my skin! Recently, i realized that using some products with added fragrance was one of the reasons why i get eczema flare-ups from time to time as i wasn't being careful enough. But this product proved that even without adding fragrance, one can smell so nice! And at the end of the day, it's all about the product's effectiveness, whether it works on you, right? Hence, this could be it! Mind you, that this is proven suitable for all skin types because the leftover essence, i let my sister tried (she has acne-prone + sensitive skin) and my boyfriend (he has oily skin) unlike my combination + sensitive skin type and the results are all the same! Our skin feels and looks well hydrated, nourished and refreshed!
CONS
It didn't make my skin dry, itchy or have any bad / allergic reaction while using it. It's just pure goodness!
VERDICT
It's definitely another Holy Grail product from Benton, indeed! And i really think that using it with the Aloe BHA Skin Toner is one of the best decisions i've made because it doubled up the power and effect! Having to use this product made me realize the importance of sheet masks in my skincare routine. Be it daily, few times a week or even just once a week. Every now and then, you really have to use a sheet mask to let your skin recover from all the stress it took in, let your skin relax and have all the nutrients and care it deserves after a long tiring day or week! I would suggest this to all those who are stressed out whether you are working, still a student, you have acne-prone skin or not, whether you have dry skin or oily skin, it's just for everyone! You can never go wrong with this line of Benton! It's not only a must-try, it's a must-have! I barely praise sheet masks! It's even the first that i'm going to make an official review for! It's that good. And amazing is an understatement!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! ✨
